Q Is For...The Queen's Nose!

Wouldn't life be so much simpler if you could make a wish? One that was destined to come true. Or maybe 10. With just one rub of the Queen's nose? Yeah that would be great! I...wait....what???

No, no, no, that's not what I meant! Don't go rubbing her Majesty's nose!

That wouldn't end well!

Use a 50p coin instead!

This series was adapted from a novel by Dick King-Smith and stars a girl called Harmony (played by Victoria Shalet) who is given a magic coin from her Grandad in this TV series that aired in 1995 on CITV. Granted 10 wishes after rubbing the Queen's nose she uses the coin to help others or herself get out of trouble.

Her older sister Melody was quite the character too!

Of course a lot of the storylines featured Harmony losing the coin and someone else finding it like the school bully.

The show was very entertaining and 7 seasons were broadcast although Harmony didn't appear in the last few nor did I ever see them. There was one thing I could never understand though. If you only have 10 wishes then why not wish for more? For an unlimited supply? Right? Right?

My friends and I played our own version of the Queens Nose and we each had a 50p coin that we would take with us. Two villains called Sam & Baz were after our coins so we had to keep them safe lmao! The imaginations of children eh?

I grew so attached to my coin that when I found out my mum had taken it to put it in my dinner money for school I went mad and she agreed to give it to me back haha. Of course I grew out of it quickly and spent it somewhere but it was a fun phase in my life. Maybe I should throw out my magic toothbrush now too?

Ah man, I've done it again. When writing these posts it makes me want to watch or play these things all over. I'll catch you guys again...

Right so where's my 50p to make the series magically appear in my hands?
