R Is For...Racing Hero!

I don't think I've covered a racing game on this blog yet so thought this game would be apt after playing it in the Tubers High Score Challenge a few weeks ago.

For those of you who don't know, THSC, is a group of YouTubers who participate in weekly high score challenges on arcade and retro classics. Myself and my good friend Steve started it and now have our own Facebook group for it too. I'll explain more in a future post.

So Racing Hero is nothing special compared to today's standards but I found it enjoyable nonetheless. It's quite simple, an arcade game that has you race through different courses avoiding traffic, attempting to reach checkpoints before the time limit expires.

The hard part is that if you have more than one crash you're likely not to make it to the end of the level. If you do make it to the end of the level then you get a choice of what country you want to race through next. Oh and apparently the Taj Mahal is not in India but in China...bit of a blooper there Sega.

It is a good challenge if you're into these things. I didn't get very far myself but I love playing these old arcade games!

I'll post more about our THSC group soon if you fancy joining in!

Actually, here's my run for the High Score Challenge:
