X Is For...The X-Files!

The truth is out there!
Trust no one!

I can still hear the theme music playing in my head as agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully appear on screen in the opening titles. The X-Files was a TV phenomena and is in my top 5 favourite series of all time.

W Is For...Wild West C.O.W.-Boys Of Moo Mesa!

So I'm coming towards the end of the A-Z series and for W I have chosen an old cartoon I used to watch which stars cows as cowboys! Clever? Of course the cartoon is Wild West C.O.W.-Boys Of Moo Mesa.

I had forgotten about this cartoon until I came across the video game on my modded Xbox and the memories came flooding back!

Although those memories are still a bit fuzzy.

The Consistency Of Inconsistencies

Ever since contacting Rick Idak about his upcoming Marine Boy fan film we have kept in touch over email and recently were discussing the inconsistencies in cartoons and TV shows.

For instance, have you ever been watching an episode of your favourite show and suddenly notice something isn't quite right? Is the characters costume a different colour from before? Are they stuck in a situation they easily solved a few episodes back? Shouldn't Spider-man's spider sense have warned him about that danger? How can Superman touch that Kryptonite and not be affected!

Cardiff Comic Con November 8th 2014

This was my 3rd comic con of the year (Cardiff, New York, Cardiff) and it was a wet one. The weather was on another level but it didn't seem to dampen peoples spirits. Cosplayers were still aplenty and the Motorpoint Arena was as busy as ever!

This time the comic writers and artists were on the 2nd floor and I actually visited the gaming zone for the first time. It could have done with being a little bigger though, there were loads of people packed into that small room. I didn't get a chance to do any gaming but I have plenty of that at home to keep me happy.

Q Is For...The Queen's Nose!

Wouldn't life be so much simpler if you could make a wish? One that was destined to come true. Or maybe 10. With just one rub of the Queen's nose? Yeah that would be great! I...wait....what???

No, no, no, that's not what I meant! Don't go rubbing her Majesty's nose!

That wouldn't end well!

Use a 50p coin instead!

O Is For...Once Upon A Time!

Could you imagine if you lived across the road from Rumplestiltskin or if your teacher was Snow White? Well that's what this TV show is all about. Fairy tale characters living amongst us in reality.

I wrote briefly about this is an earlier post pondering what character myself or my friends would be. I still don't think there's a character like me out there yet though, I'm just too unique ;)

H Is For...Halfway Across The Galaxy And Turn Left!

This was an Australian kids TV show back in the 90's and my favourite ever to come out of the country. I was hooked on this after viewing just the intro, love that music! I even missed the first so many episodes but still went back every morning during the school summer holidays to watch it. I even managed to hook my friends on the show.

I Can't Watch Anime For Endless Hours Because...

...I simply wouldn't be able to sleep! It's true. The same goes if I read a book all day, watch the same TV show or play a game non stop.

Why?

Because all the information becomes lodged in my brain and I can't stop thinking about it! Seriously. Sometimes I even start hallucinating about what I've watched, read or played.

Blue Bloods

No this isn't a show about aliens with blue blood. Hope you're not too disappointed but it's about a family of police officers and lawyers in New York City. The Reagan family with Tom Sellick leading the way as Police Commissioner, Frank Reagan.

Xena: Warrior Princess

In a time of ancient gods,
Warlords and Kings,
A land in turmoil cried out for a hero,
she was Xena,
A mighty princess forged in the heat of battle.

The power. The passion. The danger.

Her courage will change the world.

That awkward moment when a spin-off becomes more popular than the original series...right Hercules? This TV series was very kick-ass to say the least and remains in my top 5 series of all time. I own the series on DVD and revisit it on the odd occasion. There are so many awesome things that made me fall in love with the characters of Xena, Gabrielle, Joxer, Ares, Callisto and many more.

Of Course Not Everybody Was Happy With The Ending To Mad Dogs...

From what I have read on Twitter lately there are a lot of people who aren't happy with how Mad Dogs ended. The majority of viewers seem to believe that the series was great up until the last two episodes leaving many people disappointed.

The Ending To Mad Dogs

If you haven't seen the finale to Mad Dogs yet please don't read on as I am about to discuss the ending.

Let me start by saying what a great series Mad Dogs has been! When I first started watching it I thought it would only be a short series about 4 friends who wind up in a whole lot of trouble when they get involved with drugs abroad, all thanks to their mate who invited them in the first place!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!

It's morphin time!

On the way to watch Thor 2 the other night, which by the way is very good, I was pondering what to write about next for Matropolis. Then my best friend mentioned Power Rangers and seeing as a group of us were all singing the 'Go, Go, Power Rangers' theme a few nights earlier it was sealed.

Yes I'm a geek. Live with it :)

The Legends Of Treasure Island

This cartoon was my absolute favourite at the time it was being broadcast back in the early 90's on the same day as 'The Animals Of farthing Wood' and speaking of animals; that's exactly what the characters of this cartoon were. Jim Hawkins wasn't a human boy, he was a dog. In fact most of the heroes were dogs whereas Squire Trelawney was a pigeon and Jane a vixen. Long John Silver was a fox and Pew was a rat...naturally.

Donkey Kong Country (TV Series)

Most of you will be familiar with the popular gaming series about an ape and his love for bananas but how many of you would have seen the TV show?

Airing sometime between 1997-2000 the series was set on Kongo Bongo island and followed the adventures of Donkey and Diddy Kong while they attempted to keep the Crystal Coconut safe from King K. Rool and his pirate minions.
