Dr. Who Symphonic Spectacular

I've been to a few concerts and comic con events but never before had I been to see an orchestra. So several months ago when my parents asked me if I wanted go and watch the Dr. Who Symphonic Spectacular in Cardiff I was a bit apprehensive. However, as I had never seen one live and enjoy the show I decided to go along.

I'm glad I did.

Whether you're a fan of the show or not you can't help but appreciate the talent of the musicians in the orchestra. The music is amazing and is a fantastic score from Murray Gold.

Peter Davidson, the fifth doctor, was presenting the show himself and would come on stage before every musical piece to introduce what it was. As the orchestra played, scenes from the show would be up on the screens relating to the music. Most were from the most current season of Dr. Who featuring Peter Capaldi but also there were themes from David Tennant's and Matt Smith's doctors.

Also monsters from the show would come out and walk up and down the aisles as the music played. Of course you had your Cybermen, the Silence and the Daleks who attempted to enslave Cardiff. No Weeping Angels though, maybe they'd be too scary for the kids there. Would have been creepy but cool though.

Overall it was a great show. Now I've done it I can't say I'd go again but I'm happy I've done it the once.

For those wanting to experience the show, it's on every year so get booking!
