When Do Games Become Too Big?

I'm currently playing Far Cry 4 which is a fantastic game and it's taking up a great deal of my free time. I received the game at Christmas along with a few others to add to my ever growing pile of 'to play' games. However, Far Cry 4 is that huge that my other games aren't getting any attention apart from the weekly high score challenges I participate in.

Ok, so I could take a break and play some others but once I start a game I now try and play it until it's complete as in the past I've taken a break from games and rarely or never returned to them.

It's different if you don't have many games to play but mine started to pile up after coming across sales on the internet or in GAME and yeah...I have a lot to play. I have PS3, PS4 and the 3DS on the go and I'm planning on buying a WII U soon due to the great games being released on it. Can't wait to get stuck into Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros!

Of course, full time work takes up most of my time and I enjoy blogging and making videos for YouTube too. I have a few other activities throughout the week so don't find as much time for gaming as I used to. When I was a kid I was hardly ever away from my consoles. I'm behind on my TV shows and anime too. My Lovefilm DVDs tend to hang around for weeks at a time. Maybe I should start allocating sessions of time to all these.

With Far Cry 4, there are a million things to do! Ok, not quite a million but with your hunting, liberating outposts and belltowers, searching for masks, posters, secret areas, Shangri-la itself, doing campaign and sidequest missions it provides many, many hours of gameplay. Of course that's great! Slightly too big for my schedule but I'm loving the experience. I've decided to finish the main missions for now and do the outposts and towers and then I'll move on to some smaller games and try and clear them before tackling another biggy!

If only I could take a few years off work to catch up! Or maybe I should leave my current profession and join a game studio? Become a game tester? But that would mean more games...

Hmmm...well anyway, I'll enjoy the games I can in the time I have :)
