Kiki is a thirteen year old girl who leaves her home to train as a witch along with her faithful black cat Jiji. Instead of taking a train, bus or plane she uses her broomstick to fly across the world. How easier would that be? Personally I can't see myself doing it mind.
She later takes a job as a delivery girl and flies each parcel to it's destination, most of these being bakery orders. All is going well until she becomes exhausted, misses a date with a boy called Tombo and feels depressed after losing her powers and no longer being able to fly.
So the story then follows Kiki as she juggles these worries in everyday life. Will she reclaim her powers and obtain a boyfriend? Who knows? You better watch it.
As with all Studio Ghibli films the story is brilliantly told and the animations and voice acting superb. You can't help but watch any new Studio Ghibli film that is released, having said that I still haven't seen them all yet. I have them on my Lovefilm rental list though.
The first one that hooked me was Spirited Away. That's what made me delve deeper into the genre and there's so many out there to discover yet.
Dude did you try Ni no Kuni after on the PS3? Gotta agree with you mind, Spirited Away is pretty beastly and Summer Wars is good too mind.. its not Ghibli but still worth a watch like :)
ReplyDeleteDid I try it? I completed it lol. Was amazing! Never heard of Summer Wars, good time of the year to watch it though!
DeleteAhhh wasn't sure.. Can't believe how cheap that game is now, last time i checked just under £10. I'll have to stick SW on USB or something :)
